Tumbleweed & Cactus on TV
Geocaching enthusiasts can tune-in to Salt Lake City’s KUED-TV on Wednesday, Sept. 5 to watch a feature on the fast-growing hobby. Tumbleweed and Cactus, and their friend Max, will show Adventure Utah host Sammy Linebaugh how to find the way to a special cache along the Jordan River Parkway in Salt Lake. The show will air at 8:00 p.m. MDT, with a re-air at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
The program is one of the highlights of the Adventure Utah pilot, which spotlights interesting people, places and things to do in Utah. The feature was shot in June. Most of the spotlight is on 12-year-old Max, who learned Geocaching at a Tumbleweed and Cactus class in Park City. Max, along with Tumbleweed and Cactus, will demonstrate use of a GPS receiver (courtesy of REI in Salt Lake City), as well as background on the hobby of Geocaching.
Tumbleweed and Cactus also prepared a new Geocache, the KUED Cache, which was activated in early August and drawing significant traffic. The cache contained several travel bugs, including one Tumbleweed and Cactus’ three 2002 Olympic mascots, Powder, that are just now going into circulation.
Tune in to KUED on channel 7 on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
